Biography
Panamarenko is internationally recognised as one of the most distinctive Belgian artists of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. His work occupies a unique position between sculpture, drawing, invention and speculative engineering.
Rather than following a conventional artistic category, he created an independent visual language built around flying machines, mechanical structures, imagined vehicles and poetic experiments.
Through drawings, objects, constructions and large-scale works, Panamarenko explored the dream of movement and the tension between function and imagination.
